The Pennsylvania & Western Railroad is pleased to announce that the Traveling Boxcar arrived today,
October 13, 2004, at Conway Yard.  The division photographer is on hand to
record the event, and then the boxcar will be routed to
Schuylkill Haven, PA via Annville and Enola yards.

To signify the importance of this visit, railroad officials assigned
the Q1 4-6-4-4 locomotive to the special merchandise train containing the boxcar.

In this first photo, the train is rounding Horseshoe Curve.

The second photo, at a track-level view, we see Q1 pounding by with the TRAVELING BOXCAR in tow.

Upon arrival in Lebanon, the boxcar got a quick wash-down from
the P&W maintenance crew to keep that shiny white appearance.

The boxcar drew quite a crowd during its brief visit.
Finally, the boxcar was loaded with some liquid refreshment at
the Altoona Brewing Co. prior to being routed eastbound.
