The Traveling Boxcar has been to Bethlehem and picked up a cargo of
Just Born Peeps. It is now underway through the Lehigh River Gorge pulled
by an all Alco power set. Snowbird C628 #638 is in charge. The engine started
life as a Weaver C630. It has been modified to a C628 profile and
custom painted .
The Traveling Boxcar is well into the gorge. The rock faced modules
feature an ess curve with sufficient clearance to allow a scale sized Big
Boy to operate in the right track and not hit anything on Track 2.
The Traveling Boxcar has changed trains and roads. It is now a head
end car on an Eire Lackawanna passenger train. The special is in the capable
hands of a pair of modified and custom painted Weaver E8s.
A brace of Atlas Reading GP-35s wait for another train. The factory
building behind them is actually a facade for the transformers and control
systems on the layout.
