The Traveling Boxcar was slightly demolished on the Peekskill Connecting Railroad  on  May  12, '06.  The cause was determined to be some minor rough switching along the Hudson River docks. The Peekskill Connecting Railroad decided to rebuild the boxcar due to its historical significance.

The Traveling Boxcar lives! It is seen being switched on my Peekskill Connecting Railroad. I enjoy hosting the boxcar as it nudges me to get work done on my layout. Prior to its arrival, within the last 2 weeks, I added dwarf signals, completed the "Hudson River" water scene, added dowels for pilings, added coffee stirrers for planks along the dock to name a few of my chores.

Here is a view of the dock area showing pilings made from wood dowels and an HO scale fence that seemed too big for HO and fits nicely here. I still have much work to be done with painting, landscaping, etc.

The Traveling Boxcar exits stage right...a C&O switcher performs its switching duties and pushes the boxcar onto a barge for its next destination.
