The Rick Rhodes (Rothstein) Volume
September 1998

Hello friends.

After reading David Sani's (Elliot Abromovitch) e-mail about his life since he left the New Generation, I've decided to encourage all of you to do the same.  It would be much better that an M AND R GAZETTE.  Don't you think?

I urge you to do it.

Anyway....here's a brief summation of what happened to me since I left the group in 1971:

1) Attended Santa Monica College
2) Dropped out of college to go on the road with a rock band which included Rocket Roden and Bobby Brandt. (we are still great friends!)
3) Legally Changed my last name to RHODES in 1980. (Reason: various......)
4) Played music in bars for years, wrote songs, etc. ... met my wife Vivian in 1981...we married in 1982.
5) Through a friend, landed a job as a composer/music director for the soap SANTA BARBARA at NBC in 1986.  Stayed till it's demise in 1992.
6) Enjoyed continued success as a TV composer and songwriter for many different shows.
7 Daughter, Allison was born in 1983....son, Adam in 1989. (both musical and quite theatrical)
8) Moved to Oak Park (Ventura County) in 1992.
9) Became a recording artist and production music library producer around then.
10) I enjoy playing softball, golfing, computers, cheering my daughter's cheerleading squad at Oak Park High, watching my son grow to become the next Robin
Williams, good friends, traveling with my wife, playing Nintendo 64, producing shows at The Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza and The Kingsmen Shakespeare
festival.......... and many other things one can enjoy about this wacky life.

It will be great seeing all of you soon.
